Safety operating procedures for special machining machines

The special processing machine tools that are widely used in production mainly include die-sinking EDM machine tools and die-sinking wire cutting machine tools. Therefore, the safety operation procedures for these two special processing machine tools are mainly described here.

1. Safety operation procedures for EDM machine tools

(1) Before starting, read the instruction manual of the machine tool carefully, and do not move the machine tool at will before being familiar with the operation of the machine tool, so as to avoid safety accidents.

(2) Pay attention to check the discharge gap before processing, that is, it is necessary to keep a certain distance between the tool and the workpiece connected to different polarities to form a discharge gap. Generally, it is about 0.01~0.1mm.

(3) The clamping and correction of the tool electrode must ensure that the feed processing direction of the tool electrode is perpendicular to the plane of the worktable.

(4) Ensure that the voltage pulse waveform output by the pulse power supply on the workpiece and tool electrode added to the liquid medium is unidirectional.

(5) There should be enough pulse discharge energy to ensure that the metal at the discharge part is melted or gasified.

(6) The discharge must be carried out in a liquid medium with certain insulation properties.

(7) During the operation, pay attention to check the filter element of the working fluid system filter, and replace it in time if it is blocked, so as to ensure that the working fluid can automatically maintain a certain degree of cleanliness.

(8) For the use of flammable type of working fluid, pay attention to fire prevention in use.

(9) To achieve civilized production, after the processing operation, the work site must be cleaned, the machine tool must be wiped clean, and the power supply of the system must be cut off before leaving.

2. Safety operation procedures for EDM wire cutting machine tools

Since wire EDM is developed on the basis of die-sinking EDM, it uses a wire electrode (molybdenum wire or copper wire) to cut the workpiece by spark discharge. Therefore, the safety operating procedures of die-sinking wire EDM machines are mostly the same as those of die-sinking EDM machines. In addition, it is important to note that:

(1) When winding, it is necessary to ensure that the electrode wire has a certain preload to reduce the vibration amplitude of the wire electrode during processing and improve the processing accuracy.

(2) Check that the working fluid system is equipped with a deionized resin cylinder to ensure that the working fluid can automatically maintain a certain resistivity.

(3) During electrical discharge machining, the working fluid must be fully enclosed by the electrode wire to prevent wire breakage due to the heat generated by the electrode wire when passing through a large pulse current.

(4) Strengthen the daily inspection, protection and lubrication of the mechanical devices of the machine tool.

(5) To achieve civilized production, after the processing operation, the work site must be cleaned, the machine tool must be wiped clean, and the power supply of the system must be cut off before leaving.
